I'm on HGTV!

Be careful what you wish for…

For the past year I have been shy to be the face of my business. As a project manager, my role is to clear all the clutter so my clients can shine. Being behind the scenes orchestrating things is where I’m most comfortable. I’ve always been reluctant (OK, maybe a little afraid) to be the person in front, the person that shines. As a business owner when I DO my work, that makes perfect sense. As a business owner when I PROMOTE my business that is no bueno.

Well tomorrow that all changes. My face and all that goes with that will be on HGTV. I was cast for an episode of Mountain Life. It’s sort of a House Hunters for Mountain Living. Three days of shooting, having a hidden mic strapped to my body was an interesting way for this reluctant gal to shine. It was so weird being the one that everyone was catering to and making sure was set up for success. I settled in. My amazing son Justin and Real Estate Agent Jake Woolsey did the show with me and we actually had a blast.

Lessons Learned So the lesson that I learned, well maybe two lessons, is that sometimes the things that seem hard and scary actually turn out to be a total blast and exactly what you need. And that the only person in my way, was me.

So do me a favor tune in tomorrow, Saturday, July 28th at 10:30pm (that’s what time the show is on here in Portland, check your local listings) and watch me and my son find my dream home that also happens to house my dream business, The Peach Cheesecake Ranch.

Also, one more shining moment. Jake has a great new podcast that we talk about our search to find The Ranch. You can listen to that podcast here.

I’d love to hear from you. What you are reluctant or afraid of doing? Then do it, it just might be the kick in the pants you need!
