This is how I stay sharp.
One of the things I do to stay sharp as an event space owner is to continue to work as a contract event planner and project manager.
Currently, I’m knee deep in planning the annual World Domination Summit. I know it sounds ominous…it's quite the opposite. It’s a gathering of people from all over the world that are looking to dominate the world with goodness. The event is centered around these three values: Community, Adventure and Service. And one of the main questions we are looking to answer is this: how do you live a remarkable life in a conventional world?
I'm grateful to be a part of this amazing planning team. What I love about this work is learning and expanding my knowledge of how to create meaningful experiences for people. Yes, this a conference for 1,000 people, but many of tenants for creating great attendee experiences are the same for a 10-person team offsite.
Always put the attendees first.
Find ways to bring delight to each experience.
Create a space that is designed for the outcome the group is looking to achieve.
Give your attendees the opportunity to learn something.
Create opportunities to create community and foster open communication.
Host your event in a location that inspires and gives the attendees the opportunity to change their perspective.
Encourage attendees to get up, move and interact with the outside world.
Provide or give access to food that is as delicious as it is nourishing.
Schedule intentional downtime so your people can recharge.
And most importantly, give lots of opportunity for fun and play.
Do you have a favorite event you’ve attended? What event and what was it that made it your favorite?
I’d love to give you tour of my space and see how I’m integrating what I learn from WDS into the Peach Cheesecake Ranch. Email me and let’s set up a visit.
