A blog post from the folks at Trello landed in my in box today. Why self-care is the secret to becoming a productivity powerhouse, it really resonated with me.
I’ve had some consistency issues with my own self-care routines over the past few years. The one thing that is consistent is my want to make self-care a more consistent part of my life. Are you getting the vibe here? I have recently made a renewed commitment to taking care of myself so I can take better care of others. Especially right now.
Anyway, I’m currently doing the latest 21-day Meditation Experience from Oprah and Deepak and the Chopra Center. Periodically through the year, Oprah and Deepak offer these great 21-day experiences.
10 minutes of Oprah and Deepak in your head followed by about 10 minutes of meditation. I love these and it’s a great way to kick-start my self-care practice.
I’m also journalling more regularly. I’m currently using Danielle LaPorte’s Desire Map Journal.
It’s a great intro into journalling. Very simple prompts to follow in a beautiful bound book. I especially like the daily gratitude work.
The third thing in my trifecta of self-care is moving my body. I’ve been struggling with knee and back issues and I had to find a way that I could move each day with those pains in mind. My friend Kirstin Pinit started posting about Body Groove. It looked like she was having a blast.
I wanted to have a blast AND move my body. Body Groove has a bunch of varying levels of exertion that are perfect for me as I work through my physical issues. And I start each morning with my own private dance party!
I can tell you that this self-care notion works. I’m feeling better, stronger and ready to take on the world just after 10 days of consistency. I’d love to hear your self-care routines. Please send them my way.
